Geothermal Heating Systems

Our Design Process
to Ensure a Quality System at a reasonable Price

separator

We take pride in designing geothermal systems that are of the highest quality and meet your needs and budget. Geothermal systems have a relatively high initial cost and we must therefore ensure that your system is right-sized to your needs and provides the comfort and features that you demand.

Planning should start early. The heating and cooling system in your new home will be key to your future comfort and should therefore be given prominence in your planning and budgeting process.
If you are retrofitting, the importance of early planning is almost more important since problems with the in-place system may not be easy to fix and may demand other design changes.

We recommend that you review our geothermal heat pump system brochures and in particular the information on what a system might cost. Make sure you understand the potential benefits too including the cost savings and the environmental friendliness of the system.

If you're planning a new house consider what kind of heating (and cooling) distribution system you would like and fits your budget. Forced air, radiant floor, baseboard or a mixture? You will find some ideas on the pros and cons of each on our pages. If you are dealing with a retrofit your choices may be more limited but changes and particularly improvements can be made to improve your comfort.

Give us a call and we'll meet to review your plans (new construction) or walk through your existing home and discuss what you want in a heating, cooling and indoor air quality system. At this time we will also lay out some of the important considerations and options for you to think about while pulling together the final designs for your home.

Preliminary system proposal and costs estimates
We use the most recent system design standards and software approved by the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning and the Air Conditioning Contractors of America to design a geothermal heat pump system and conventional system that meets your requirements. We will provide you with operating cost comparisons for various system configurations. In addition the analysis will enable us to provide you with advice on how to increase the energy efficiency of your home if needed. We will also present you with preliminary costing and options for ducting, radiant floor, baseboard or a combination distribution system and the various air quality options.

Based on your feedback we will develop a formal proposal for you with the various options that you have selected.

At any time in the process should your budget or needs change we will update the proposal to incorporate these into the design system options for you to consider.

Should you decide in the end that a geothermal heat pump system is not for you we can provide you other very high efficiency system options that use the best energy technologies such as condensing gas boilers and mini-split systems.
